I have been seeing Mr Gallagher over the past 8 months around issues I’ve been experiencing with my increasingly heavy periods. In parallel to this I’ve had a number of miscarriages, suspected ectopic pregnancy, a ruptured ovary and x2 laparoscopy surgeries. Brendan has listened to me, spent more time than he needed to with me, trying to find solutions to the varying issues. He’s been incredibly kind each time I’ve seen him and I fully trust his advice and guidance. Couldn’t speak highly enough of the care I have received. Also, thank you to Kate Shields for going over and above to fit me in at speed!

Dr Gallagher performed a subtotal hysterectomy on me in October of this year. My operation was due to there being a rather large fibroid in my uterus. Dr Gallagher listened to me from our first consultation. He gave me options which was fantastic as my previous consultant had told me that a full hysterectomy was my only option even though my ovaries and cervix were perfectly healthy. On the day of the operation Dr Gallagher put me at ease and the team he included were just amazing. A special mention must go to his secretary, Kate, as well. She is so professional yet also caring. She helped make my recovery far less stressful by responding to my multitude of questions after my surgery. Thank you both.

I have had to suffer stress incontinence getting worse in my 40s, to a level where I needed to wear a nappy to go for a walk - and with ADHD my mental health depends on me being physically active! I saught help through the trust and met with a consultant who didn't listen - and in the hope of sorting out my situation I ended up with a front and rear prolapse along and part hysterectemy walking out of that hospital in a markedly worse situation than when I walked in. I stopped going on long fresh walks - that I had previously done practically every morning. I had to wear a heavy duty nappy when I did and the discomfort, shame and self loathing marred the experience. Dr Gallagher has turned my situation round. He listened and I felt heard. Most importantly he saw my situation through to an extremely non intrusive remedy of injecting filler that has totally cured my stress incontinence. I walked out of Royal Surrey last week - sorted! I cant believe how my situation has completely turned around. I am utterly and totally grateful! Apart from feeling like I was in competent hands - and the result speaks for itself - I am grateful also for feeling more than a slab of meat with Dr Gallagher - I felt listened to and most importantly cared for.
